CONSERVATIVE DENTISTRY

The goal of conservative dentistry at our clinic is not only prevention, but primarily the treatment of teeth damaged by decay, trauma, or other conditions. Based on a comprehensive examination, including radiographic diagnostics, the treating dentist will propose possible treatment options and prepare an individualized treatment and financial plan.

We perform a wide range of procedures – from minor fillings to more complex endodontic treatments (root canal therapy), aimed at preserving the natural tooth. All procedures are carried out gently, with maximum consideration for the patient’s health, and under local anesthesia to ensure comfort and a pain-free experience.

Fillings

  • As of January 1, 2026, changes to health insurance reimbursement will come into effect. Some fillings are fully covered, others partially covered, and highly aesthetic or technically more demanding options may require a patient co-payment. We always explain the specific option and any potential co-payment in advance.

    Insurance-covered fillings

Insurance companies cover basic filling options depending on the extent and location of the decay. These materials fulfill their function but may have limitations in terms of aesthetics or long-term durability.

    Aesthetic and premium fillings

At our clinic, we prefer modern composite (“white”) fillings, which:

    • blend naturally with the tooth color,

    • allow for more conservative preparation (only affected tissue is removed),

    • structurally reinforce the tooth,

    • provide long-term excellent functional and aesthetic results.

We also use high-quality encapsulated amalgam with precise composition and improved mechanical strength. With these fillings, we emphasize subsequent polishing to improve surface smoothness and reduce the risk of plaque accumulation.

We provide a two-year warranty on composite fillings placed at our clinic.

Root canal treatment (endodontics)

Endodontic treatment aims to preserve a tooth affected by damage to the dental pulp (the “nerve”). The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and includes:

  • removal of infected or necrotic pulp tissue,

  • identification of all root canals,

  • mechanical preparation and disinfection of the canals,

  • hermetic sealing of the root canal system.

At our clinic, we use modern techniques for filling canals with heated gutta-percha (e.g., the Thermafil system or warm vertical condensation), ensuring high-quality and tight sealing.

An integral part of treatment is proper post-endodontic restoration – reconstructing the tooth to sufficiently strengthen it and minimize the risk of fracture. In some cases, we recommend additional prosthetic protection (e.g., a crown).

As of January 1, 2026, changes to the reimbursement system for endodontic treatment will take effect. Selected procedures are fully covered by health insurance (e.g., for pediatric patients), while others may involve patient co-payment depending on the technique used and the extent of treatment. All information regarding coverage is provided to the patient before treatment begins.

Note: We provide a two-year warranty on premium fillings placed at our clinic.
