The purpose of the restorative stomatology performed at our clinic is both to preserve healthy teeth and to treat damaged teeth, usually teeth damaged by tooth decay or by an injury of some kind. Following a comprehensive examination, including the production of x-ray images, your dentist will propose various possible treatments and draw up an individual plan of treatment and a financial plan for you. Individual procedures are then performed according to this treatment plan, from simple fillings to endodontic treatments that help protect damaged roots. We perform all procedures at our dental clinic with the greatest possible regard to the patient’s medical condition in a considerate and pain-free manner.
Fillings
standard fillings (i.e. paid for by your health insurance company)
- we do not recommend white fillings made from material that is paid for by health insurance companies for the front teeth (i.e. incisors and canines) as a matter of principle, not merely in view of their poor aesthetic appearance (they cannot be polished and have a tendency to go brown), but first and foremost in view of their unsatisfactory functionality (these fillings do not fit sufficiently tightly, for which reason new decay may form beneath the filling).
- traditional amalgam is the material of choice for the back teeth, but may also present problems relating to functionality – this type of amalgam is characterised by inferior mechanical properties and again carries a risk of decay forming beneath the filling.
- white composite fillings prove satisfactory over the long term in both aesthetic and functional terms. They are used most often on the front teeth, though they are also suitable for the back teeth. Their advantages, in addition to their appearance, include the fact that not much tooth needs to be removed by drilling (merely the decayed part of the tooth) and that they strengthen the tooth. A relative disadvantage is the necessity of excellent hygiene to ensure that no new decay forms in the area around the filling.
- special amalgam fillings (capsule amalgam) whose precise composition guarantees long-term permanence and mechanical resistance. Their initial appearance is a disadvantage, although we polish these fillings at the patient’s next appointment, which both improves their appearance and produces a smooth surface that prevents plaque from being deposited in the area around the fillings, thereby preventing the risk of the formation of new decay around the filling.

Root canal therapy endodoncy)
This reatment is performed under local anaesthetic and consists of the removal of the nerve from the tooth, the location of all the canals in the root of the tooth, the cleaning and expansion of these canals with special drills and, finally, their filling. At our clinic, we exclusively use a modern method of filling root canals with preheated material. In our case this is the Thermafil system, in which preheated gutta-percha inserts, which along with cement hermetically seal the root system, are inserted into the prepared canals. An integral part of this treatment is high-quality post-endodontic treatment, meaning the reconstruction of the tooth into its original shape, during which we place the greatest possible emphasis on ensuring that the tooth is sufficiently strengthened in order to prevent its cracking.
Note: We provide a two-year guarantee on special fillings performed at our clinic.
